At Positive Outcomes we believe in the power of relationships as a means of supporting others that are struggling with similar issues. Many people feel isolated by their problems or that no one can understand what they are going through. Group therapy offers individuals the opportunity to meet with other people that do understand, and can help them along their journey. Through group therapy, individuals can form relationships with others and those relationships can help empower, encourage, and motivate them to continue to reach their goals.
Another important element of group therapy is its role in helping individuals learn to talk about their feelings, problems, and circumstances with others. They will learn new coping skills for dealing with their problems, learn to identify their feelings, and learn to share those feelings and needs with others. A therapist will lead the group and guide the discussion, which will facilitate the healing process.
At Positive Outcomes we offer a variety of Group Therapy services:
- Grief support groups
- Parent support groups for families with children with autism, chronic illness, or other special needs
- Social skills groups
